The NAR’s Green Designation and Green REsource Council

A real estate broker with Crestar Realty in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, Patricia (Trish) Sanderson holds active licensure as both a real estate agent and broker. She is also a certified REALTOR through a local chapter of the National Association of REALTORS (NAR), an organization that recognizes high standards of professional competence and ethics. Patricia Sanderson has secured several specialized designations through NAR, including a recently-obtained Green Designation.

The NAR's Green Designation was created to address the growing demand for information about sustainable and environmentally-friendly housing. Realtors who hold this designation have demonstrated a committed interest to locating, understanding, and marketing real estate with green attributes.

The Green Designation was established by the Green REsource Council, a subsidiary of the NAR and a creation of the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council. Providing a wide range of educational resources and tools, the Green REsource Council has positioned itself at the vanguard of consumer/builder sustainability awareness and green real estate advocacy in general.
